Established by two former members of the Archaeological Diving Unit (ADU) at the University of St Andrews, ADUS has gained a wealth of experience in the investigation of submerged archaeological sites throughout UK Waters including, at Scapa Flow in 2001, the first ever multibeam sonar surveys of historic wrecks. This pioneering work has been followed by more than fifty multibeam sonar surveys of ship, submarine and aircraft wreck sites, together with submerged prehistoric landscapes. ADUS specialises in ultra high resolution, ultra high quality multibeam sonar surveys for the assessments of submerged archaeological sites. The results provide a unique tool for those engaged in the management, research and development of the marine historic environment. This presentation, which was a show-stopper at the BSAC Dive Officer Conference 2007, includes stunning, hi-definition visuals that definitely need to be seen ! |
